LAST WEEK'S ACTION
Oregon faced two of the toughest teams in the country last weekend. The Ducks played host to the No.1 ranked Stanford Cardinal and the No.24-ranked California Bears. On Friday, Oregon went to battle with Stanford, and came up short, losing to the Cardinal, 6-1. One bright spot, however, was sophomore Jason Menke, who defeated the Cardinal's No. 46-ranked Scott Lipsky, 6-2, 6-4. On Saturday, the Ducks were defeated 5-2 by the Bears. Oregon's Menke picked up his second win of the weekend, defeating California's Ben Miles, 7-6, 6-2. Also victorious was Oregon's No.1 and No. 3 doubles duos. At No. 1, Ducks David Becker and Martin Pawlowski defeated Cal's Scott Kintz and Erik Dmytruk. And at No.3, Oregon's tandem of Oded Teig and Greg Dubourdieu put away the Bears' Ben Miles and Hiro Nakamura.
