Cougar Volleyball Team Honors Announced

PULLMAN, Wash. -- The Washington State University volleyball program handed out team awards at its annual banquet last Friday night.
The following awards were presented: Most Valuable Player - LaToya Harris, a sophomore from Portland, Ore., Most Improved - Melissa Boyle, a junior from Boise, Idaho, Strength and Conditioning - Chelsie Schafer, a sophomore from Saskatoon, Sask., Canada, and Academic Achievement- Kortney Jamtaas, a sophomore from Orinda, Calif.
The most valuable player and most improved awards are selected by a team vote while the WSU Athletic Strength and Conditioning staff choose that award's recipient. The academic achievement award goes to the student-athlete with the highest GPA.
WSU finished the 2000 volleyball season with a 19-10 overall record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship Tournament.
