No. 6 Softball Tunes Up With Exhibtion Games.

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The sixth-ranked Arizona State softball team will take to the field with three games in four days. All three games will be played at Farrington Stadium, located on the corner of Sixth Street and Rural Road behind the practice football fields and adjacent to the soccer stadium.
Up first on Thursday, February 1 at 7:00 p.m. will be an exhibition game against Phoenix Community College. The Sun Devils will then play their annual alumni game on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. ASU will then finish its preseason games with a match up against Mesa Community College also at 7:00 p.m.
Arizona State will then begin the 2001 season hosting its annual Fiesta Bowl Tournament February 9 through 11. ASU's first regular-season game will be against Utah State on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex.
The Sun Devils, coming off a 43-20 season and a No. 10 national ranking last year, return nine starters, including two-time All-American pitcher Kirsten Voak and All-American designated player Erica Beach.
Head Coach Linda Wells, entering her 12th-season at ASU and 28th overall, will also have the services of All-Pac-10 performers Kara Brun, Missy Hixon, Nichole Thompson and Sara Kahler.
In addition to the strong returning cast, Arizona State will also have the services of talented freshmen Phelan Wright, Kristen Swetel and Kristin Farber, as well as junior college transfer Shilo Talanoa.
