Grinda, Rojer Still Alive At Rolex National Indoors

Farmers Branch, Texas - UCLA senior Jean-Noel Grinda and sophomore Jean-Julien Rojer kept up their winning ways as both players won consolation quarterfinal matches this evening at the Rolex National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships at the Brookhaven Country Club. Hosted by SMU, the Rolex Intercollegiate Indoor Championships is the third leg of the ITA Grand Slam.
Grinda ousted Radovan Chrz of West Florida, 6-3, 7-6 (4) to reach the semis, while Rojer advanced by defeating SMU's Alexis Rudzinski in straight sets by identical scores of 6-2.
Grinda will face Bo Hodge of Georgia, while Rojer is scheduled to square off against Brian Vahaly of Virginia. The consolation singles final will be held Sunday, Feb. 4.
The tandem will also compete for the consolation doubles crown after upending Huntley Montgomery and Vahaly of Virginia, 6-2, 6-2 in the semifinals. The pair will face Rodrigo Echagaray and Eleazar Magellan of Kansas in tomorrow's final.
