Fruttero Falls in Quarterfinals of Rolex Indoor Championships

DALLAS, TX - No. 7-ranked singles player, John Paul Fruttero fell in the quarterfinals of the Rolex National Intercollegiate Indoor championships, Saturday, held in Dallas. Fruttero fell in the quarterfinals after notching two solid wins over some of the country's top tennis players.
Fruttero faced Arkansas' Oskar Johansson, the No. 4 seed, in the quarterfinals match, as Johansson dominated the match from the start. Fruttero fell to Johansson, 6-3, 6-2, yet not before Fruttero proved himself as one of the nation's best college tennis players.
Johansson went on to defeat the No. 1 seed, Genius Chidzikwe of Southern Methodist, 6-1, 7-6(7), in the semifinal match. Facing Stanford's Alex Kim in the finals, Johansson put up a strong fight, however lost in the end, 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-4.
