WEEKEND PREVIEW:The Ducks continue their non-conference play, this weekend traveling to face the Idaho Vandals in Lewiston, Idaho. The unranked Vandals are 0-2 for the season and face Oregon after losing two straight matches, to New Mexico and Boise State.
THE LAST TIME:The last meeting between the Ducks and the Vandals was on January 29, 2000. The Ducks got the better of Idaho, 6-1.
LAST WEEK'S ACTION:Oregon hosted a couple of high-powered non-conference opponents over the weekend. On Friday, the Ducks took on No. 33-ranked Boise State. Despite battling at most all positions, the Ducks fell to the Broncos, 5-2. Sophomore Oded Teig and senior David Becker had the lone singles victories for the Ducks. Teig defeated the Broncos' Guillaume Bouvier, 7-6, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Becker put away Jonny Biorkman of Boise State, 6-1, 7-5. In doubles, Oregon's duo of sophomore Jason Menke and freshman Buck Mink defeated Boise State's tandem of Bouvier and Rio Kuharski, 8-3 at No. 2 doubles. On Saturday, Oregon faced the No. 41-ranked Northwestern Wildcats. The Wildcats swept the match and picked up the 7-0 victory.
