Beavers Rained Out Again

Feb. 11, 2001

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The final day of Oregon State's baseball series at Cal-Santa Barbara was rained out Sunday at Ceasar Uyesaka Stadium. The Beavers (0-3 overall, 0-0 Pacific-10) and Gauchos (1-2, 0-0 Big West) had been scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game Sunday.

After rain scrubbed Saturday's doubleheader, the teams still hoped to play Sunday. There was no precipitation Saturday evening, however, rain on Sunday morning left the Gaucho's home field - which does not have a tarp - unplayable.

As they did Saturday, the Beavers went through a workout Sunday in Cal-Santa Barbara's batting cages and on the outfield grass at the ballpark.

OSU's next action will be Thursday through Sunday at the San Diego Tournament. The Beavers open the event against co-host San Diego State on Thursday at 6 p.m., then play Texas Tech on Friday at 2 p.m., Cal-Riverside at 10 a.m. Saturday and No. 19 Oklahoma at 9 a.m. Sunday.
