Freshman Jieun Jacobs Earns Sportsmanship Award
A recent letter from the United States Tennis Association Southern California Section to freshman Jieun Jacobs spoke of the award given to Jacobs in honor of her achievements as a junior tennis player.
On behalf of the Southern California Tennis Association, I am writing you to inform you that you have been selected to receive the highest honor given to a junior tennis player. I take great pride in congratulating you as the recipient of the Association's Evelyn Houseman Sportsmanship Award for 2000.
The example you have set by virtue of your exemplary conduct while participating in the programs of the Southern California Tennis Association and the United States Tennis Association has earned you this substantial honor. In addition, I am sure that this high level of sportsmanship, honesty, and integrity has not gone unnoticed by other competitors. Your favorable example can only enhance the level of sportsmanship in our program.
As a token of our appreciation and in recognition of your achievement, the Association has awarded you a life membership in the USTA. You and your family are invited to attend and be recognized at the SCTA Annual Meeting to be held on Monday, February 5th in the Straus Clubhouse at the Los Angeles Tennis Center on the UCLA campus (just West of Pauley Pavilion) starting at 6:00 p.m. Food and beverages will be available for your enjoyment.
Complimentary parking will be available in Lot 6 on campus. Inform the parking information booth personnel that you are attending the SCTA Annual Meeting.
