Play Suspended at Soggy TRW Regional Challenge

COLUMBUS, Ohio--Rain marred the first round of the TRW Regional Challenge,hosted by Ohio State Monday at the par-71 Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos VerdesEstates, Calif. Six of the 18 teams competing did not finish their rounds due todarkness.

Play was slowed by a two-and-a-half hour rain delay and soggy playing conditions.The six teams which did not finish Monday - Ohio State, Arizona, SouthernCalifornia, TCU, Tulsa and Michigan State - will tee off at 8 a.m. Pacific time Tuesdayto finish the first round.

New Mexico State's Rachel Bailey posted the low round of the day, firing a3-under-par 68 - the lone round under par for the day. Bailey's round catapulted theAggies into first place with a score of 289 (+5) - 11 strokes ahead of runner-upStanford (300).

After the completion of the first round, the second round is scheduled to tee off atapproximately 9:30 a.m., weather permitting. Rain is forecasted for the final two daysof the tournament.
