Track Travels To Air Force Saturday

UCLA's women's and men's track and field teams will travel to ColoradoSprings, CO this Saturday (Feb. 17) for the Air Force Invitational Indoor meet.
Last weekend (Feb. 10-11), selected Bruin women's and men's runnerscompeted at the Iowa State Indoor in Ames, IA.
Leading the way for the Bruins was junior Ysanne Williams, who had theninth best time in the 800m, placing first in her heat with a mark of 2:09.29(NCAA provisional qualifier).
Other Bruin women's 800m runners included ' sophomore Jessica Marr, 13thbest time, first in her heat (2:09.71, personal-best), sophomore TiffanyBurgess, 16th best time, second in her heat (2:10.49, personal-best, Pac-10qualifying mark, the conference accepts indoor marks for the conference outdoormeet in May) and senior Bridget Hatch, 18th best time, third in her heat(2:11.44).
Also in women's competition, junior Elaine Canchola placed seventh in the3000m, with a personal-best and Pac-10 qualifying mark of 9:42.49.
In men's races, senior Will Bernaldo placed sixth in the 5000m with apersonal-best mark of 14:19.91 and in the mile, senior Paul Muite improved histime, with a mark of 4:12.44.
Looking ahead, the Bruins will compete Feb. 24-25 at the MPSF Indoor atFlagstaff, AZ, March 2-Last Chance Qualifier at Ames, IA, March 2-3-USA Indoorat Atlanta and March 9-10-NCAA Indoor at Fayetteville, AR (in 2000, the UCLAwomen won the team title, the first NCAA Indoor championship in school history).
