Matt Lubick Leaves Football Coaching Staff

Feb. 14, 2001

Corvallis, Ore. -

Oregon State University assistant football coach Matt Lubick has left the school to join the Colorado State University program, it was announced Wednesday by Beaver head coach Dennis Erickson.

The 29-year-old Lubick, who has served as OSU's recruiting coordinator and secondary coach for two seasons, joins his father at CSU. Sonny Lubick, a former assistant to Erickson, has been the head coach in Fort Collins since 1993.

'The entire coaching staff is sorry to see Matt leave,' Erickson said. 'Matt did an outstanding job in helping build this program. This is a unique opportunity for him, and we wish him well.'

Lubick came to Oregon State prior to the 1999 season, after a two-year stint at San Jose State University. He also was on the staff at Cal State-Northridge in 1996, and was at CSU as a graduate assistant for two years.

Erickson expects to fill the void in his coaching staff within four weeks.
