SAME TEAMS, DIFFERENT YEARS...

Only six teams have made appearances in the past 12 NCAA Championships. A look at the current streaks of NCAA Championship appearances entering the spring of 2001:

PERFECT-11...

ASU has won 11 Pac-10 men's golf titles since joining the league in fall of 1978. The Sun Devils have won the past six (1995-2000) championships, a league record, and also won titles in 1993, 1990, 1989, 1981 and 1979.

THE RECORD BOOK... Research done regarding NCAA men's golf low rounds has produced the following rounds of 62 or lower. The NCAA does not keep records except at the NCAA Championships. The following is the list (corrections and additions welcomed):

CONSECUTIVE NCAA TOP-10 FINISHES...

Arizona State's 12 straight top-10 finishes from 1988-99 is the third-best such streak in NCAA men's golf history. Oklahoma State posted 25 straight top-10 finishes from 1968-92, while Houston posted 13 straight from 1964-72. ASU had been in the top 10 every year beginning with the 1988 NCAA Championships before missing the cut last year.
