Women's Golf In Fifth After Two Rounds Of TRW Regional Challenge

Palos Verdes, Calif. - Sophomore Candie Kung shot 72 to lead the No. 3 Women of Troy golf team to a second round score of 301 as USC moved into fifth place heading into Wednesday's final round of the TRW Regioal Challenge held at Palos Verdes Golf Course in Palos Verdes, Calif., on Feb. 12-14 (Mon.-Wed.).
After having their first round suspended because of darkness Monday, USC and five other teams completed the opening round on Tuesday. The Women of Troy shot 305 in the first round, good for eighth place. After two rounds, Arizona leads with a total of 582, followed by New Mexico State (593), Tulsa (596), Texas (603) and USC (606).
Individually, Arizona's Natalie Gulbia (141) and Lorena Ochoa (143) are in the top two spots, followed by Stacy Prammanasuh of Tulsa and Alena Sharp of New Mexico State (145), Kung, USC freshman Anna Rawson (competing as an individual) and Tulsa's Maiko Senda all tied for fifth with a score of 147.
Also for USC, sophomore Mikaela Parmlid is tied for 12th (149), junior Leila Chartrand is tied for 34th (154), senior Nicole Dalkas is tied for 55th (157) and freshman Anna Lee is tied for 75th (163).
The final round begins Wednesday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Pacific time.
