Women's Golf Takes Sixth At TRW Regional Challenge

Palos Verdes, Calif. - Sophomore All-American Candie Kung took home yet another top five finish as the No. 3 USC women's golf team shot a three round total of 906 (+54) to place sixth at the TRW Regional Challenge held at Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes, Calif., on Mon.-Wed. (Feb. 12-14).
For Kung, it was her 12th top five finish out of only 16 career tournaments as a Trojan. The defending Pac-10 champion shot 75-72-74 for a total of 221 (+8) to tie with Stacy Prammanasudh of Tulsa in fourth place. Natalie Gulbis (214) of Arizona won individual medalist honors, followed by her teammate, Lorena Ochoa (216). Alena Sharp (217) of New Mexico State was third.
Arizona captured the team title with a score of 884 (+32), followed by New Mexico State (895), Stanford (900), Texas (902), Tulsa (904), then USC.
Also for the Women of Troy, sophomore Mikaela Parmlid and freshman Anna Rawson (making her collegiate debut while competing as an individual) tied for 17th with a score of 226 (+13). Junior Leila Chartrand finished tied for 26th (229), senior Nicole Dalkas tied for 37th (231) and freshman Anna Lee was 81st (247).
USC next competes at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz., on Feb. 19-21.
