Men's Track Makes Second Trip to Reno

RENO, Nev. - The University of Oregon men's track and field team returns to University of Nevada for the second time this month, competing at Saturday's Holiday Inn Invitational.
Tentative UO men's entries include:
The team returns to action after missing last weekend's Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa because of travel plans cancelled by winter conditions.
Two weekends ago at the Wolf Pack Invitational in Reno, Sat., Feb. 3, eight Ducks competed with three posting runner-up honors - sophomore Terry Ellis (55 hurdles, 7.56), freshman Trevor Woods (pole vault, 16-10 3/4) and sophomore Foluso Akinradewo (triple jump, 49-5 1/2). Other top performances came from senior Rian Ingrim (shot put, third, 56-8 1/2), sophomore Adam Kriz (weight throw, fifth, 58-4 3/4) and sophomore Jason Slye (pole vault, fifth, 16-0 3/4).
So far the season, 13 Duck men have combined for 18 qualifying marks for the Mountain Pacific Championships, and 10 UO women have combined for 12 qualifying marks in 10 events.
On the NCAA provisional lists, three Ducks have secured qualifying marks already this season - sophomore Jason Hartmann (men's 5,000, 14:05.72), senior Katie Crabb (women's mile, 4:46.38) and junior Holly Speight (women's pole vault, 12-6).
The Duck women's track and field team will not compete this weekend, but will join the Duck men next week at the Mountain Pacific Championships, Fri.-Sat., Feb. 23-24 in Flagstaff, Ariz.
This weekend, area track fans can take advantage of the U.S. Cross Country Championships in Vancouver, Wash., at Ft. Vancouver Park, Sat.-Sun., Feb.17-18 (meet information is available at www.usatf-oregon.org and www.usatf.org).
