Women's Indoor Track & Field Has Four Individual Winners At Holiday Inn Classic

RENO, Nevada - Four Stanford indoor track & field athletes won individual titles on Saturday at the Holiday Inn Classic, hosted by the University of Nevada at Reno at the Reno Livestock Events Center.

Lindsay Hyatt won the 800 meters in a season-best time of 2:08.83, which also meets the NCAA Championship provisional qualifying mark. Earlier this season, Hyatt provisionally qualified in the 800 with a time of 2:08.97.

In the pole vault, Kathleen Donoghue put up a season-best mark of 12-04 1/2 to win the event. Kim Stone won the high jump with a jump of 5-07 3/4 while Laura Turner won the mile in a time of 4:56.74. The 4x400-meter relay team was also first with a time 3:48.13.

Ashley Couper turned in another NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the 800 meters, running a 2:09.07 to finish in second. Earlier this season, Couper ran a season best 2:08.35 to provisionally qualify in the 800.

Jillian Camarena, who already met the provisional qualifying mark in the shot put, had a throw of 49-03 in the event for fourth place. Also in the shot put, Erin Fletcher had a season-best mark of 44-06 1/4.

In the 55-meter low hurdles, two Cardinal ran their best times of the season. Lindsey Johnson (8.22) and Lillian Bush (8.34) were third and fourth, respectively, in the preliminary heats.

Melissa Feinstein posted a season-best mark in the pole vault with a vault of 12-04 1/2, good for second place. Julie Tinker was second in the long jump with a mark of 19-03 1/2 and finishing in second place in the 400 was Jayna Smith with a time of 57.88.

The Cardinal is next in action on Feb. 24-25 at the MPSF Championships in Flagstaff, Ariz.
