Stanford Baseball's Jeff Bruksch Named Louisville Slugger National Player Of The Week

Stanford, Calif. - Stanford junior right-handed pitcher Jeff Bruksch (Los Angeles, CA) has been named a National Player of the Week by Louisville Slugger. Bruksch tossed his first collegiate shutout in Stanford's 8-0 win over Santa Clara on Sunday, February 25, allowing only three hits and no walks. Bruksch tied a career-high with nine strikeouts.

Bruksch has now pitched 17.1 consecutive scoreless innings in his last two starts, giving up only five hits and three walks, while striking out 15 batters over the stretch. Bruksch is 3-0 overall on the season with a 3.72 ERA.

StStanford is ranked #9 in the nation and has won nine of its last 10 games. The Cardinal travels to Santa Clara on Monday, February 26 (6 pm), before beginning an 11-game homestand with a game versus Nevada on Tuesday (3 pm). The Cardinal will play California in a non-conference series at Sunken Diamond this Friday-Sunday, March 2-4 (6 pm, 1 pm, 1 pm).
