CLARKSTON, Wash. --- Washington State University and the Clarkston Country Club will host the third Inland Collegiate Challenge on Friday, March 2.
Eastern Washington, Gonzaga, Idaho, Lewis & Clark State, and the host Cougars will compete in the one-day event for regional bragging rights on the golf course.
'It's a great event,' Washington State head coach Walt Williams said. 'It's a great opportunity to test ourselves against some very good players right here in our own backyard.'
Washington State has dominated the first two installments of the event. The Cougars won the men's team title in 1999 and 2000, with the women also grabbing top honors in 2000, the only year there has been a women's field.
Washington State's Jon Reehoorn is one of two former individual champions returning this year. He won the event in 1999. On the women's side, Idaho's Nicole Keller is back to defend her title she won last year.
The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. Friday. Each team will play one round, with the top four scores from each six-player team counting toward team scoring.
