Washington State Defeats Huskies, 79-61

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - Freshman Marcus Moore had 18 points and 10 reboundsSaturday to lead Washington State to a 79-61 victory over Washington.
J Locklier added 16 points and a career-high 12 rebounds for WashingtonState (12-14, 5-11 Pacific 10), which doubled its win total for all of lastseason and notched its fifth win in nine games.
Michael Johnson scored 18 points for Washington (9-19, 3-13), which lost itsseventh straight game to remain in the league cellar. Will Perkins had 14points and 12 rebounds for the Huskies, who have lost 10 of 11 games.
It was the 250th meeting between the programs, and Washington leads theseries 161-89.
The Cougars played without leading scorer Mike Bush, who is out with anAchilles' tendon injury.
Washington State led by two points at halftime and outscored the Huskies15-7 to open the second half. David Adams' 3-pointer gave the Cougars a 44-34lead with 14:34 left in the game.
Moore stole the ball and then lofted an alley-oop pass to a streaking JerryMcNair, whose reverse layup gave WSU a 50-38 lead with 11:42 left in the game.McNair finished with 16 points.
Cedric Clark's 3-pointer gave the Cougars a 65-50 lead with 6:30 left in thegame and the Huskies never threatened after that.
