Men's Golf In First After One Round At Matlock Collegiate Classic

With high winds and cold, rainy conditions, the Stanford men's golf team shot a 10-over par 298 and currently lead the field at the Matlock Collegiate Classic after one round. Second round action could not be completed due to darkness. Rounding out the top five are Florida Southern College (300), Alabama (300), Georgia Southern (307) and Ohio State (307).
Teams needing to complete the second round will tee off at 7 a.m. tomorrow morning and the third round is scheduled to begin on time with tee times beginning at 8 a.m.
Individually, Cardinal Alex Aragon is tied for first after shooting a one-under par 71 today. Teammates Jim Seki and James Lee are tied for seventh at three-over par 75. Philip Rowe carded a 77 and is tied for 17th while Eric Dahlberg shot a 79 and is tied for 33rd.
Aragon is tied with Florida Southern's Alex Renard for the top spot on the leaderboard. They are followed closely by Alabama's Nick Rousey (72).
Action concludes tomorrow with the completion of the second and third rounds in the Matlock Collegiate Classic, held at the Grasslands Golf and Country Club in Lakeland, Florida.
