Huskies Down San Diego State 4-3 in Women's Tennis

SAN DIEGO - Sophomore Darija Klaic played in the lone Husky doubles victory and captured the decisive third set in her No. 4 singles match Wednesday, scoring the winning point in 17th-ranked Washington's 4-3 victory at No. 32 San Diego State.
The Huskies won for the seventh time in their last eight outings, improving their dual-match record to 12-5. San Diego State dropped to 5-6.
Washington won four of six singles matches, including a 6-3, 6-3 decision by seventh-ranked senior Kristina Kraszewski over Silvia Tornier in the No. 1 spot.
Klaic was the only Husky winner extended to three sets. She prevailed 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 over Katja Karrento.
Washington won despite losing the doubles point. Klaic and Kraszewski teamed up to outpoint Tornier and Hedberg 9-7 in the No. 1 doubles spot, but San Diego State claimed the other two doubles competitions. Wells and Chidley beat Carter and Kordonskaya 8-4 in No. 2 doubles and Karrento and Erin Polowski defeated Boisclair and Hoe 8-6 in No. 3 doubles.
The Huskies conclude their three-game spring break road trip on Friday against 13th-ranked Pepperdine.
