March 26, 2001
WALNUT CREEK, CA. - For the second time in three weeks, junior Jocelyn Forest was named the Pac-10 Pitcher of the week for Mar. 19-Mar. 25, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Forest, a junior from Santa Maria, CA., went a combined 5-0 on the weekend in helping lead California to a Georgia Tech Buzz Classic Title. Forest allowed only four earned runs in 32.0 innings of work with 49 strikeouts and just three walks during the tournament. In the championship game against Harvard on Mar. 25, she threw the first perfect game of her career to cap off a day in which she won all three games Cal played. Forest is now 22-1 on the season with a 0.35 ERA in 161.1 innings and a conference-leading 248 strikeouts.
Forest garners the second award of her career giving Cal 47 honors all-time.
