Men's Golfers Finish Fifth at Oregon Duck Invitational

The UCLA men's golf team tied for fifth place at the Oregon Duck Invitational, hosted by the University of Oregon at the Eugene Country Club.
The Bruins posted a team score of 884 over 54 holes of competition. They finished four shots in front of Nevada and three shots behind fourth place Arizona State. San Diego State won the tournament title with a three-round total of 871, followed by Washington at 872 and Oregon at 880.
Sophomore Travis Johnson, who was tied for third place entering the final round, fell to 20th place after posting a final round score of 80. Freshman John Merrick captured 22nd place at 222 and junior Parker McLachlin tied for 23rd at 223 following a final round score of 74. Sophomore J.T. Kohut tied for 36th at 225 and freshman Steve Conway tied for 54th at 230.
UC Santa Barbara's Jeff Wood won the event with a 54-hole total of 210, six-under par. Colorado State's Martin Laird captured second place at 213.
