Men's Tennis Blanks BYU, 7-0

STANFORD, Calif. - The sixth-ranked Stanford University men's tennis team (10-1) extended its home winning streak to 63 matches with an easy 7-0 non-conference win over No. 70 BYU (9-6) on Wednesday afternoon at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium. The Cardinal has not lost a home match since the 1995-96 season.

The Cardinal won all six singles matches in straight sets to increase its winning streak to four. Stanford has outscored its opponents 27-0 during the winning streak.

Senior Ali Ansari (Houston, TX/Second Baptist HS) turned in a pair of dominating performances to lead the Cardinal. Ansari blanked Jeff Harbach 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles, and teamed with fellow senior Scotty Scott (Belvedere, CA/Pinewood School) to knock off Erik Nyman and Matt Stuhl 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.

Stanford returns to action this weekend with non-conference matches at No. 69 Arizona (9-5) on Friday at 1:30 p.m. (PT)/12:30 p.m. (MT) and No. 28 Arizona State (8-6) on Saturday at noon (MT)/11:00 a.m. (PT). The Cardinal's next home match is Wednesday, April 4 against Utah at 1:30 p.m. at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
