Men's Golf In Seventh Place Of Western Intercollegiate After 36 Holes

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Stanford men's golf team sits in seventh place after 36-holes of the 55th annual Western Intercollegiate, hosted by San Jose State University at Pasatiempo Golf Course. The Cardinal shot a team score of 588 and is 17 strokes behind the leader, Oregon, which totaled a 571. Washington (577) is in second place while Pacific (579), Cal (582), UC Irvine (585) and San Diego State (585) round out the top five teams.

Junior Philip Rowe leads the Cardinal after two complete rounds. He carded a 70 in the opening round and followed with a 72 to sit two-over par and 10 strokes behind the leader, Lars Johansson of San Diego State. Senior Jimmy Lee is six-over after rounds of 72 and 74 and in 21st place while senior Alex Aragon shot a 76 and a 74 for a 10-over total of 150. Sophomore Jim Seki recorded rounds of 75 and 78 while senior Eric Dahlberg checked in with an 80 and a 75.

The 54-hole tournament concludes Tuesday with 18 holes of play beginning at 8:00 a.m.
