UCLA Women Win 4 X 800m Relay

On the second day of competition at the Texas Relays in Austin, the UCLAwomen's 4 X 800m relay set a school record by winning the event in a time of8:33.21 (the old school mark was 8:39+, when the Bruins won this event at theTexas Relays in 1980).
Running for the Bruins were junior Ysanne Williams (2:07.7), sophomoreJessica Marr (2:09.2), sophomore Tiffany Burgess (2:08.3) and freshman LenaNilsson (2:07.3).

Men's 4 X 800m Relay ' freshman Nicholas Thornton, sophomore Phil Young,junior Martin Brix, senior Paul Muite, seventh, 7:34.82.
Women's Hammer Throw ' senior Christina Tolson, second, 207-11 (ties seasonbest, NCAA automatic qualifying mark)
Men's Hammer Throw 'freshman Dan Ames, sixth, 192-8, personal best, juniorScott Moser, 11th, 186-6.
The meet will continue tomorrow and conclude Saturday.
