Men's Soccer Defeats Westmont, 3-1, In Spring Game

Los Angeles, CA - In spring action at the North Athletic Field Apr. 7, the UCLA men's soccer team defeated Westmont College, 3-1. The Bruins remain undefeated in the spring season with a 2-0-1 record.

Freshman Leonard Griffin gave UCLA a 1-0 lead off assists from Ryan Futagaki and Tim Pierce. Pierce made the score 2-0 on an unassisted goal, and after the Warriors cut the lead in half, freshman forward Cliff McKinley scored an insurance goal off an assist from Matt Taylor.

Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Zach Wells played 60 shutout minutes. Junior Stephen Gardner played 30 minutes.

The Bruins' next spring games will take place Saturday, Apr. 14 at UC Irvine. UCLA will face UC Irvine at 10 am and then Cal State Northridge at 2:00 pm.
