Stanford's Jeff Bruksch Named Pac-10 Pitcher Of The Week

Stanford, Calif. - Stanford junior right-handed pitcher Jeff Bruksch has been named Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season and on the third occasion in his career, Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen announced Monday. The Pac-10 award was the 58th time a Stanford pitcher has been selected.

Bruksch struck out a career-high 12 batters in 8.0 scoreless innings of Stanford's 9-0 victory over UCLA in the second game of a doubleheader on April 7. Bruksch allowed just six hits and three walks.�

Bruksch (7-0, 2.40) has won seven of his last eight starts and has given up just four earned runs in his last 53.2 innings.

The Cardinal visits Nevada for a non-conference game this Tuesday (2 pm) before returning to Sunken Diamond for a Pac-10 series versus Oregon State next Thursday-Saturday (6 pm, 6 pm, 1 pm).
