Four Pac-10 teams, the No.1 Bruins, No. 6 Cardinal, No. 13 Beavers and the No. 8 Sun Devils advanced to the 2001 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships, April 19-21 in Athens, Georgia. The top two teams, individual event winners (scoring 9.8 or higher) plus the top two all-arounders not on an advancing team were automatically selected to attend the prestigious meet. By virtue of this selection process, four additional athletes from Arizona and Washington also qualified for the NCAA Championships.

In Athens, the Bruins look to defend their 2000 Championship Crown. Stanford also be will be a strong force in the NCAA team competition after upsetting UCLA at this years' Pac-10 Championship on March 24. With their win, the Cardinal became only the second team to upset the No. 1 Bruins all season. Oregon State qualified for the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive season. Finally, Arizona State qualified for the Championships for the 16th time over a 20-year period.
