Defense Dominates the Line of Scrimmage in 42-16 Win in Spring Football Game.

TEMPE, Ariz. - One of the largest crowds in ASU spring football memory, estimated at between 4,000 and 5,000, witnessed the Arizona State defense wrap up spring drills with a 42-16 victory Saturday afternoon at Sun Devil Stadium in ASU's annual spring football game.
The defense dominated the line of scrimmage for most of the day led by sophomore defensive end Terrell Suggs who had two sacks and a forced fumble. Senior defensive tackle Tommie Townsend and junior defensive tackle James Beal each contributed a sack, while junior cornerback Josiah Igono grabbed an interception.
On the offensive side of the ball, sophomore Jeff Krohn completed 12 of 21 passes for 140 yards including a 20-yard touchdown pass to senior Ryan Dennard. Redshirt freshman Andrew Walter went 8-of-16 for 78 yards and an 11-yard touchdown strike to senior Tom Pace. Junior Matt Cooper completed 4-of-13 passes for 42 yards. Dennard ended the day with two catches for 23 yards and a touchdown, while sophomore Sean McDonald had three catches for 59 yards.
Senior punter Nick Murphy highlighted the play of the special teams with six punts for 274 yards, while senior Donnie O'Neal blocked one Murphy punt. Senior Delvon Flowers turned in a 54-yard kickoff return, and McDonald had a 75-yard punt return.
