Women's Tennis To Face UC Irvine, No. 46 San Deigo State

UP NEXTOregon (4-15, 0-7 Pac-10) looks for its fifth and sixth wins of the season as it travels to California to face non-conference opponents UC Irvine and No. 46 San Diego State. The Anteaters are 7-15 on the season, including back-to-back wins over UC Santa Barbara and St. Mary's. San Diego State is in the midst of a seven-match winning streak, pushing its season record to 13-7. The Aztecs have posted a 6-1 record in conference play and are in second place behind Mountain West opponent Brigham Young.
LAST WEEKThe Ducks suffered back-to-back losses as the hands of No. 34 Tulsa and No. 26 Texas Christian. Tulsa relied on solid doulbes play in its 4-3 win over Oregon, and Texas Christian capitalized on four singles wins in its 4-3 victory over the Ducks.
COACH JACK GRIFFINGriffin is in his fifth season as head coach of Oregon women's tennis. The La Jolla, Calif., native was a standout player at the University of New Mexico, where he earned a degree in sports administration. In Griffin's first season as head coach, the Ducks advanced to the NCAA West Regional tournament. Since then, the Ducks have been frequent visitors to postseason competition.
MENDIBURU MAGICFreshman Davina Mendiburu stretched her winning streak to eight matches with victories over Tulsa's Jana Sedivec and Texas Christian's Rosa Perez. Mendiburu leads the team in dual match victories, having compiled a 14-5 record on the season.
