Freshman Lillian Bush In Ninth At Azusa Pacific Heptathlon Championships

Walnut, Ca - Lillian Bush, a Stanford freshman, resides in ninth place among 29 competitors after day one (thursday) at the Azusa Pacific Heptathlon/Decathlon Championships.
Bush, competing in her first collegiate heptathlon, chalked up 2,950 points after four events. Sande Swabe of Oklahoma leads the competition with 3,239 points.
Bush began the day with a time of 14.24 in the 110 meters (945 points). She then high jumped 5-2 1/4 (1.58m, 712 points), followed by a throw of 30-4 1/4 (9.25m, 480 points) in the shot put, followed by a time of 25.82 in the 200 meters (813 points). The long jump, javelin and 800 meters are slated for Friday.
Julie Tinker is competing for Stanford at the Mt. Sac Heptathlon/Decathlon Championships. Tinker is among 14 athletes competing and she resides in 13th place after day one with 3,138 points. Tinker produced a 15.15 in the 100 meter hurdles (822 points), followed by a leap of 5-7 1/4 (1.71m, 867 points) in the high jump, 35-11 1/2 (10.96m, 592 points) in the shot put and a time of 25.33 in the 200 meters (857 points).
Former Stanford All-American Tracey Lawyer, now competing for Nike, leads the competition with 3,734 points.
