Softball Sweeps Doubleheader With Arizona State

Tempe, Arizona - The third-ranked Stanford softball team swept a doubleheader with Arizona State this afternoon, 6-0 and 7-2, in Tempe, Arizona. The Cardinal improve to 42-6-1, 9-3 Pac-10 while the Sun Devils fall to 30-14, 5-6 Pac-10.

Sophomore pitcher Maureen LeCocq pitched a complete game shutout in game one to give the Cardinal the 6-0 victory. Fellow sophomore Tori Nyberg picked up the win in game two.

Stanford hit seven homers in the doubleheader including two each by catcher Jessica Allister and second baseman Kira Ching.

The Cardinal will hit the road again next weekend facing UCLA and Washington.
