Lindsey Jorgensen Named Third Team Academic All-American
April 25, 2001
PULLMAN, Wash. -- After the best season in Washington State history, junior goalkeeper Lindsey Jorgensen (North Bend, Wash.) was named a third team Academic All-American for the second year in a row. Jorgensen is the only player in Washington State soccer history to earn Academic All-America honors.
Jorgensen helped lead the Cougars to the NCAA tournament in 2000 for only the second time in the program's history. The Cougars went 13-7 overall and were one of seven Pac-10 teams to make the tournament.
Jorgensen was named as a District VIII Academic All-America first team selection for a second time earlier this year as well. She holds the WSU career saves record with 342 and the career shutout record of 16. A team captain the past two seasons, she was named to the All-Pac-10 second team last fall and is a two-time Pac-10 All-Academic first team honoree.
A mathematics major, Jorgensen carries a 3.80 GPA.
