Men's Tennis Results From The Pac-10 Championships

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona State men's tennis team opened the first day of competition at the Pac-10 Championships with mixed results today in Ojai, California.
In the round of 32 in the championship bracket, senior Nic Dubey advanced easily, dropping only two games to Oregon's Buck Mink, 6-1, 6-1. Junior Mirza Duranovic also advanced to the second round in the championship bracket by also winning in straight sets over Oregon's Martin Pawlowski, 6-4, 6-1.
However, junior Matt Klinger dropped his first round match in straight sets to California's Robert Kowalczyk, 6-2, 6-1
In the Pac-10 individual bracket, freshman Olivier Charroin won his first round match after dropping the first set and not winning a game. Charroin then fought back and dominated his opponent, loosing only one game to Oregon's Greg Dubourdieu, 0-6, 6-1, 6-0. But Charroin was then eliminated in the round of 16 by Stanford's Ali Ansari, 6-1, 6-2.
Freshman Jarrod Eckermann also won his opening round match over Washington's Marius Lunde, but also fell in his second round match to UCLA's Travis Rettenmaier.
Sophomore Pim Van Mele's first round match and other second round matches, as well as the consolation brackets were still in progress and results were not yet available.
