Mazzaglia, Judie and Wood Notch Event Wins at Oregon Invitational

EUGENE, Ore. -- While ASU's sprinters were competing at the Drake Relays this weekend, the other half of ASU's track and field squad competed at the Oregon Invitational in Eugene Saturday.
The day session of the meet was highlighted by the wins of throwers David Wood and Adrienne Judie. Wood won the men's shot put with a season-best and PQ mark of 61 feet, 11.5 inches. He also notched a fourth-place finish in the discus with a mark of 168 feet, 11 inches. Judie captured first in the women's shot put with a NCAA PQ mark of 50 feet, 4.25, though not a season-best for the senior thrower.
In the evening session, Olivia Mazzaglia won the women's triple jump with a season-best mark of 37 feet, 10.75 inches. In the men's 800, Brandon Strong earned runner-up honors with a season-best time of 1:51.11.
Next weekend, the Sun Devils will host their final home meet of the season, welcoming in-state rivals Arizona and Northern Arizona for a double dual Saturday, May 5. Field events will begin at 2:30, while running events will follow at 7 p.m.
