No. 4 Softball and No. 13 Washington Game Halted In The Top Of The Third

SEATTLE, WA - After waiting 4.5 hours for a first pitch, the game between the No. 4 California Golden Bears and the No. 13 Washington Huskies has been halted due to wet conditions. The game is scheduled to resume tomorrow, April 30, at 1 p.m., with the Huskies on top of the Bears, 2-1. Cal is up to bat with two outs and the bases loaded and sophomore Veronica Nelson at bat.

Washington put two runs on the board in the first on two hits.

Cal came back in the third. Sophomore Mikella Pedretti led off the inning with a single through the left side of the infield. After the next Cal batters were retired, moving Pedretti to third, senior Paige Bowie singled to left to bring in Pedretti. Senior Pauline Due�as followed with a single and junior Candace Harper was hit by a pitch to load the bases, which is where the game was halted with Nelson to the plate.

Cal dropped the first two games of this weeekend, 2-0, at UCLA of Friday, and 5-1 at Washington on Saturday.
