McHardy Tabbed For NCAA Leadership Conference

CORVALLIS, Ore. - - Oregon State men's soccer player Aaron McHardy is one of 300 student-athletes from across the country to be selected for the fifth annual NCAA Foundation Leadership Conference to be held May 28-June 30 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
McHardy, a sophomore midfielder from Vancouver, British Columbia, was selected from a field of 1,084 nominees for the prestigious conference.
The aim of the conference is to provide an opportunity for a group of the nation's top student-athletes to enhance their leadership and communication skills while participating in activities that will enable them to be better leaders on their respective campuses and in their communities.
McHardy has taken on an active leadership role on the OSU campus and in the community, as he sits on the Student-Athlete Advisory Board, volunteers for food drives, and attends seminars on diversity.
McHardy maintains a 3.70 grade point average and was second on the team in goals scored last season.
Also nominated from Oregon State were gymnast Jerra Lopez, who was selected as an alternate, Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Year Felicia Ragland, and Richard Seigler, who was a football Freshman All-American after last season.
