WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--Jeff Quinney of Arizona State and Ricky Barnes of Arizona have been named
Pac-10 Co-Golfers of the Year, Hunter Mahan of USC has been named Freshman of the year and USC coach Kurt Schuette has been named Pac-10 Coach of the Year, in voting by the Pac-10 men's golf coaches.

Quinney, a senior from Eugene, Ore., is the reigning U.S. Amateur Champion and the top-ranked
player in the Pac-10 in the Golfweek rankings, in which he is ranked third nationally. He had six top-10 finishes in nine tournaments this year and won the Las Vegas Intercollegiate for his third career collegiate victory. Quinney's stroke average was 71.38 this season.

Barnes, a sophomore from Stockton, Calif., won the Pac-10 Championship by three strokes in
shooting four round under par to finish the tournament at 16 under par. He had six top-10 finishes in 11 tournaments this season and won the Savane College All-America Golf Classic in addition to the Pac-10 title. His stroke average of 70.76 topped the Pac-10. Barnes was Pac-10 Freshman of the Year last season.

Mahan, from McKinney, Tex., is the top-ranked freshman in the Pac-10 with a stroke average of
71.13. He posted two wins in his freshman season, winning the Windon Memorial Classic and the Taylor Made Red River Classic and was runnerup in the Pac-10 Championships. Mahan had three other top-10 finishes in addition the the two titles.

Schuette directed USC to its first Pac-10 championship since 1986. In the process, the Trojans
snapped Arizona State's record string of six consecutive Conference titles. In addition to the Pac-10 crown, USC won the PING Arizona and the Red River Classic championships. Schuette's Trojans finished in the top seven in 10 of 11 tournaments entered this season.
