Men's Tennis Falls Short at NCAA Regionals

ATHENS, Ga. - The No. 37 University of Arizona men's tennis team fell shortto No. 26 Georgia Tech, 4-2, at the NCAA Regionals, on Saturday.
The Yellow Jackets picked up a point in doubles play winning at the No. 1and No. 2 spots. The48th-ranked duo of junior Steven Capriati and freshman Carl Hagman fell to45th-ranked Roger Anderson and David Wright, 8-3.
In singles play the Cats earned two match points. At the No. 1 spot, No. 92Capriati defeated Anderson, 6-2, 6-4. At the fourth position, freshman WhiKim earned a win against Stephen Moros, 6-3, 6-1. Alex Navinkov clinchedthe match for Georgia Tech at the No. 6 spot, defeating senior JariNiskala, 6-4,7-6(5).
The Wildcats finished the 2000-2001 season 12-10 overall and 2-5 inPacific-10 play.
