May 14, 2001

STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford women's soccer team posted its third win of the spring season on Saturday, defeating Saint Mary's 1-0.

Sophomore Marcia Wallis scored the game's only goal on a follow up shot. Wallis sent a through ball to freshman Marcie Ward, who pushed the ball past the advancing Saint Mary's goalkeeper. Ward's shot hit the far post where Wallis was on hand to finish off the close range shot.

The Cardinal is next in action on Saturday, May 19, against UC Davis. All of Stanford's spring games are played on their home Maloney Field and admission is free.
