WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Pacific-10 Conference outdoor track and field athletes of the week(May 8-14)

MEN'S TRACK - Gabe Jennings, STANFORD. Running in his first 800 meters of the season, Jennings clocked the fastest time by an American in the United States this year with a time of 1:46.83 at the Cardinal Qualifier. The NCAA automatic qualifying time was a career best for the 2000 Olympian and is the third-best time in Stanford history. Jennings is a junior from Madison, Wis.

MEN'S FIELD - Santiago Lorenzo, OREGON. Lorenzo claimed Oregon's eighth Conference crown in the decathlon with a total of 7,617 points at the Pac-10 Multi Event Championships in Berkeley, Calif. He led competitors in the long jump (6.85m/22-5 3/4) and 400 meters (48.97), ranked second in the javelin, pole vault, shot put (13.41m/44-0) and 100 meters (11.10), and stood third in the 110 hurdles, discus and high jump (1.94m/6-4 1/4). Lorenzo is a junior from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

WOMEN'S TRACK - Ellannee Richardson, WASHINGTON STATE. Richardson won the Pac-10 heptathlon with a season-best 5,578 points, surpassing teammate Whitney Evans, who held a 12-point lead heading into the final event (800M). Richardson won two of the three events on the final day, grabbing the javelin with a personal best 43.64m/143-2 and the 800 meters with a time of 2:16.58. Richardson is a redshirt sophomore from Gladstone, Ore.

WOMEN'S FIELD - Sarah Malone, OREGON. At the Oregon Twilight, Malone posted a personal best javelin throw of 53.04m/174-0, an NCAA automatic qualifying mark. The mark ranks second nationally among collegians, first among American collegians and fifth on the U.S. list in 2001. Malone is a freshman from Newburg, Ore.

WOMEN'S TRACK - April 10 - Brianna Glenn, ARIZ (100M), April 16 - Brigita Langerholc, USC (800M), April 23 - Brianna Glenn, ARIZ (100M, April 30 - Sheena Johnson, UCLA (400H), Michelle Perry, UCLA (4x1600m, 100H, 400H, 4x400m, LJ), Ellannee Richardson, WSU (heptathlon).
