Softball Has Three Earn All-Pacific Region Honors

BERKELEY, Calif. - California Golden Bears softball players junior Jocelyn Forest and sophomores Veronica Nelson and Eryn Manahan were selected as second team 2001 NFCA Pacific All-Region Softball members.

Both Forest and Nelson garnered first team All-Pac-10 honors earlier this week.

The Bears look to advance to their third consecutive Women's Softball College World Series this weekend as compete in a six-team regional hosted by Florida State, in Tallahassee, FL. Second-seeded Cal opens play versus fifth-seeded Connecticut (35-21) on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. EDT. Also involved in the regional is host and No. 1 seed Florida State (54-10), No. 3 seed Florida Atlantic (45-19), No. 4 seed Florida (36-25) and No. 6 seed Bethune-Cookman (45-21)

All players named to the regional team are now eligible for All-America honors.
