Kurimay joins Kops-Jones in earning national acclaim, as the Budapest, Hungary native was awarded the TENNIS Magazine/Arthur Ashe, Jr., Leadership and Sportsmanship Award. The award goes to the player who has exhibited outstanding sportsmanship and leadership as well as scholastic, extracurricular and tennis achievements.
The Bears team fell in the Round of 16 to Arizona State, 4-2, yet have three players competing in the individual portion of the NCAA tournament, May 22-25. In singles, Raquel Kops-Jones, Christina Fusano and Anita Kurimay will compete for an individual title, while in doubles Kops-Jones will team up with Kurimay in an attempt to make it Cal's fourth consecutive NCAA double crown.
