Cassie Bouska and Carina Olsson Earn Academic Honors

Corvallis, Ore. - Oregon State University senior student-athletes Cassie Bouska and Carina Olsson have been named to the Verizon Spring Women's At-Large Academic District VIII Team, it was announced Tuesday. Bouska was a first team selection, while Olsson garnered second team honors. District VIII includes the states of Oregon, Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Washington, and the province of British Columbia.
Bouska is a native of Myrtle Point, Ore., and competes in crew. The three-year varsity eight boat member has a 4.00 cumulative GPA and is pursuing a master's degree in wildlife science. Bouska, who is involved with a number of charities including Toys for Tots and the OSU Food Drive, was a second team all-district selection last year.
Olsson is a four-year letterwinner in golf. The Sollentuna, Sweden native has a 3.91 cumulative GPA in engineering, and earned her second consecutive second team academic honor. Olson is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Board and volunteers with the Boys and Girls Club. She led OSU to the NCAA West Regional Championships this season, where she finished tied for 19th.
Bouska is now eligible for the national academic team, which will be announced June 14.
