Fisher/Marinova Advance at NCAA Championships

Stone Mountain, Ga. -- The UCLA doubles team of Lauren Fisher and Petya Marinova won its second-round match Wednesday, advancing to the doubles quarterfinals of the NCAA Women's Tennis Championships at the Lincoln Tennis Center in Stone Mountain, Ga.
Fisher and Marinova, ranked 18th in the latest ITA doubles rankings, defeated Cal's Raquel Kops-Jones and Anita Kurimay, 6-4, 7-5 in Wednesday's second round. They will take on second-seeded Laura Granville and Gabriela Lastra of Stanford in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
In singles action, Sara Walker's season came to an end on Wednesday as she was beaten by Alabama Birmingham's Mirela Vladelescu, 6-2, 6-1 in the second round of the singles competition.
