Doubles Pair Falls To Top-Seed Virginia

ATHENS, Ga. -- The NCAA title hopes of USC's 11th-ranked doubles team of Ryan Moore and Nick Rainey came to an end in the quarterfinals of the Men's Doubles Championship on Sunday, May 27, at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
Moore and Rainey fell to top-seeded Huntley Montgomery and Brian Vahaly of Virginia, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2. Vahaly and Montgomery were then defeated in the semifinals by SMU's Johan Brunstrom and Jon Wallmark who will advance to the finals and face Matias Boeker and Travis Parrott of Georgia on Monday.
Moore and Rainey end the 2001 season with a 22-4 overall doubles record and a likely top-10 finish.
