May 29, 2001
SEATTLE - Washington men's tennis player Jeremy Berman was one of four Husky student-athletes awarded a grant in the amount of $3,000 to go towards a postgraduate scholarship. Berman is a senior majoring in psychology with intentions to go to medical school next fall.
To qualify for a Pac-10 postgraduate scholarship, the student-athlete must have an overall grade-point average of 3.00, have behaved in an impressive manner both on and off the field, and be in their final season of athletic eligibility.
'I am very proud of Jeremy and I find it hard to believe that anyone would be more deserving of this scholarship than him,' said head coach Matt Anger. 'He led our team this year, both on and off the court, and he will be fantastic wherever he goes in life.'
The Washington men's tennis team is coming off its best season in school history, having advanced to the round of 16 in the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championships.
