Stanford, Calif. - The Pacific-10 Conference has awarded postgraduate scholarships to Pac-10 student-athletes who have excelled in the classroom, commissioner Tom hansen announced today. Each recipient, selected by their respective institution, will receive a grant in the amount of $3,000.
Stanford senior swimmer Adam Messner is one of only four Cardinal athletes to be awarded a postgraduate scholarship by the conference office. Messner, a two-time NCAA Champion in the 200 fly, helped Stanford to its 20th consecutive Pac-10 Championship and a runner-up finish at NCAAs in 2001.
