UCLA Men At NCAA T&F Championships

June 1, 2001

Field Finals-

Discus: Junior Scott Moser placed third (197-4) and freshman Dan Ames was17th (171-10). Unlike the first two days, with the competition in hotweather, Friday was cool, windy and rainy. Moser earned six points for theBruin men and earned his second career All-American honor.

Scott Moser - 'The conditions were more physical than mental. It was hardto throw with the whirling winds and drizzle. I was happy with my third-placethrow because when I let it go, I didn't think he was that good or that far. After that throw, I was hoping I could get one out there farther, but itdidn't happen. I tried not to let it (the conditions) get to me. At times, itseemed like no one could really get going. It was a weird day.'

Looking ahead to Saturday for the UCLA men--
Junior Scott Moser and freshman Dan Ames will compete in the shot put.
